Abacus Chinese Medicine needed a digital presence that felt aligned with its brand while also creating a clear, approachable experience for visitors. I led the project across multiple areas, including website design, content architecture, custom WordPress theme development, brand identity, migration, hosting, and ongoing maintenance. The goal was to create a cohesive foundation that supported both the visual identity of the business and the practical needs of managing and maintaining the site over time.

The work began with brand identity development, including the logo and color scheme, to establish a visual system that could guide the website design and create a stronger, more unified presentation. With those core elements in place, I structured the site’s content architecture to improve clarity, support better organization of information, and make the overall experience easier for visitors to navigate. That content-focused planning helped shape a site that was not only visually polished but also more purposeful in how it communicated the business and presented its services online.

The website itself was built as a custom WordPress theme, giving the project a tailored front-end experience while allowing for flexible and streamlined content management on the back end. Rather than relying on a generic template, the site was designed and developed to reflect the brand more directly and provide a stronger long-term foundation for updates and ongoing use. The build was also intentionally plugin-light, using only two plugins for SEO and speculative loading. This helped keep the site leaner and reduced unnecessary overhead.

In addition to the design and development work, I also handled the site migration, hosting, and ongoing maintenance. That broader involvement helped ensure continuity from launch through continued support, giving the client a stable and well-supported web presence. The result is a custom WordPress website and brand system that bring together design, structure, and technical support in a way that is cohesive, maintainable, and built to evolve over time as the business grows and changes.
