On The Trail

Clinton on the Trail was a dedicated microsite created to launch and market a new training kit from renowned horseman Clinton Anderson. The site was designed by Bryan Barger at STEWART and initially contracted to an outside developer. After the original build failed to meet expectations, I was brought in to take over development and deliver a precise, production-ready implementation that matched the intended design and supported the product launch with a more polished digital experience.

The focus of the project was exact execution. The layout relied on strong visual hierarchy and dramatic product presentation, combining immersive hero imagery, layered product mockups, and clearly segmented content blocks to guide users through the offer. The experience needed to feel visually strong and promotional without losing clarity, so careful attention was given to pacing, spacing, and the way each section supported the overall sales narrative.

I developed the site as a custom WordPress build, translating the design with close visual accuracy while ensuring performance, responsiveness, and a streamlined backend for content updates. The build prioritized structural integrity and consistency across screen sizes, allowing the visual presentation to retain its impact without compromising usability. This approach made it possible to preserve the strength of the original design while delivering a site that was stable, maintainable, and ready for launch.

Because the microsite centered on a specific product release, it needed to communicate the value of the training kit quickly and effectively. The structure was designed to support that goal by moving users through the offer in a focused and deliberate way, using visual emphasis and clear segmentation to keep the content easy to follow.

The result was a polished, high-impact launch platform that supported the release of Clinton on the Trail and reinforced the brand’s authority through a refined, responsive, and carefully executed custom WordPress build.
