ERDMAN’s existing WordPress website had become plugin-heavy and difficult for their marketing team to manage. Routine updates required unnecessary workarounds, and the platform lacked the flexibility needed to support evolving content needs. Rather than continuing to patch an increasingly inefficient system, I led a complete rebuild focused on simplifying the architecture and creating a scalable, modular platform tailored to the way their team actually works.

The site was rebuilt as a custom WordPress theme using Carbon Fields to create a structured, flexible CMS. This approach eliminated reliance on many third-party plugins while enabling dynamic page creation within defined brand parameters. The result was a cleaner editorial experience for the internal team, giving them more control over page assembly and content updates without sacrificing consistency. By replacing plugin-heavy workflows with a more intentional content architecture, the platform became easier to manage, more stable, and better suited for long-term growth.

The interface was also refined to better align with ERDMAN’s brand standards and market positioning. The design emphasized clarity, hierarchy, and restraint, helping the site present the firm’s work and expertise in a more polished and cohesive way. Subtle GSAP-driven motion was introduced to add depth and visual rhythm without compromising performance, creating a more refined experience while keeping the interface professional and accessible.

Custom-built forms were implemented for contact inquiries, newsletter signups, and gated content downloads. A Mailchimp API integration automated subscriber management, replacing a previously manual process and improving efficiency for the marketing team. Performance optimization and accessibility improvements helped elevate Core Web Vitals to 90+ across key metrics, while metadata structure and page-level SEO refinements strengthened search visibility for terms such as healthcare architecture firm.

The result is a streamlined, high-performing custom WordPress platform that supports ERDMAN’s marketing operations, improves usability and maintainability, and reinforces the firm’s brand authority through a more scalable and efficient digital foundation.
