Papercone engaged the branding consultancy An Agency to help launch awareness for TerraBoard, a new eco-friendly product within its specialty envelope portfolio. After an unsuccessful initial design direction, the project needed a streamlined digital presence that could be delivered quickly and effectively despite limited available assets. I led the design and development of a focused microsite created to introduce the product clearly, support early-stage brand awareness, and establish a more cohesive digital foundation for the launch.
The site was structured to communicate TerraBoard’s value proposition immediately, outlining product benefits, sustainability positioning, and potential use cases with clarity and restraint. Because the available source materials were limited, the design relied on careful hierarchy, clean layout structure, and intentional visual emphasis to create impact without overcomplicating the experience. The goal was to present the product in a way that felt polished and credible while keeping the interface simple enough to support a fast and focused launch.
The microsite was developed as a custom WordPress build, providing flexibility for content management while keeping the overall architecture lightweight and efficient. This approach helped avoid unnecessary technical overhead and ensured that the platform remained easy to manage as the product messaging evolved. The result was a digital experience that was tailored to the immediate needs of the launch without introducing complexity that the project did not require.
Rather than functioning as a large or feature-heavy product site, the microsite was intentionally narrow in scope. It was designed to do one job well: introduce TerraBoard, communicate its positioning, and support product awareness through a clear and purpose-driven experience.
As the product matured, the microsite was eventually replaced by a full e-commerce platform. Even so, the original launch site served an important role by creating an efficient first-stage digital presence that helped support awareness, establish credibility, and give the product a clearer market introduction.
